Fern and Henry had a blast running down the trail around the lake and exploring. Fern wants to do EVERYTHING that Henry does. Henry is a regular mountain goat--he is very nimble on his feet running down the trail.

Doesn't this tree look like a whale? Henry thought so.
We got to see several chipmunks, squirrels, frogs, slugs, and fish jumping in the lake (only the fish and the frog were jumping in the lake...) After we ate our dinner and were sitting by the fire, we noticed one of our wrappers moving across the ground--just some friendly little hungry mice...needless to say, we cleaned up our site pretty thoroughly of food before going to bed and tied up all the food in a bag and hung it from a nearby tree--can't be too safe with bears around....Henry was very sweet holding Fern's hand--what a good brother.

And this is Fern after the camping trip--do you think a little girl could get any dirtier?!!! The kids sure had a fun time--and got incredibly dirty.

Henry, Fern and Lyn went to see the Blue Angels in Seattle. Henry was very excited and enjoyed the loud engines, smoke trails and fly bys. Fern tolerated it all, but was content to just sit in my lap and have me hold her ears. I asked her a couple of times if she wanted to look up and see the planes, but she shook her head no and nestled back in my lap. This picture is really interesting if you notice what is right in the center of it--look closely...
So, that's what we've been up to the last couple of weeks. Hopefully the sun stays out long enough this summer to turn our tomatoes red--we've had about 3 weeks of summer so far and it's August... This next week is supposed to be up in the high 70s and low 80s, so I'm excited for sunshine!!!
Caleb is still working crazy hours, making good sales and turning out really good designs--check out his link on the side (Caleb's portfolio).
Oops! It is already 9:40pm and past bedtime! (When you wake up at 5:30am--9:30pm is about the latest you should go to bed...) More later :)
